Lead Tower Hand
Tower Site Supervisor
Tower Hand
Tower Hands perform all aspects of tower construction, including antenna
installation, grounding, maintenance, and inspection on towers and related
structures as necessary. Tower Hands must have a high school degree or its
equivalent, be able to pass a basic random drug screen, and have a valid
driver's license with a clean driving record. Tower Hands must be able to
work outdoors year-round and climb and work comfortably at heights of 100'
or more. They must have the physical strength and stamina necessary to do
some heavy lifting, including loading and offloading trucks and other vehicles.
Tower Hands must own and be skilled in use of basic tools, and be prepared
to travel 5 - 7 days a week. Tower Hands should be willing to relocate to
the Southern Tier area of New York State if necessary. Experience in tower
construction and climbing safety practices is a plus; all new Tower Hands
must participate in DCI's training course.

Lead Tower Hand
Lead Tower Hands must meet all requirements of Tower Hands, and have at
least 5 years of prior experience in tower construction and maintenance.
Lead Tower Hands have working knowledge of foundation construction and
installation of guyed, self-supporting, and monopole towers. Lead Tower
Hands have direct experience in installation of grounding, cabling, antennae,
and transmission lines, and can read blue prints accurately. They can properly
use power tools, rigging, and safety equipment, and own and are skilled in the
use of climbing gear. Lead Tower Hands participate in training others and can
conduct systems testing, interpret troubleshooting diagnostics, and execute
repairs. ComTrain or other safety certification is a plus.

Tower Site Supervisor
Tower Site Supervisors must meet all requirements of Lead Tower Hands and
have at least 3 - 5 years of direct experience supervising tower construction
and installation crews. Tower Site Supervisors must be able to demonstrate
effective leadership and team management skills, including application and
enforcement of all company policies as appropriate. Tower Site Supervisors hold
regular crew meetings and report to project managers and the director of
operations routinely on all aspects of progress toward completion of job.
Tower Site Supervisors ensure that all materials and equipment necessary to job
completion are at the assigned site, and that all customer specifications and
regulations regarding the site are followed. They conduct or coordinate training
sessions as necessary and ensure that all Tower Hands consistently practice good
work and safety habits, including adherence to OSHA standards. Tower Site
Supervisors have the primary responsibility for getting the job done on time,
within budget, and in accordance with DCI quality and safety standards.
